I do not remember how old I was when I listened to The fifith Elefant but I remember how it made me an adamant fan of Terry Pratchett's books. It was my first experience with the Discworld Universum and oh boy it threw me right into the midst of it. I was devastated in 2015 when I heard of his death. It made me re-read some of his books while studying for exams.
The biography is written by Rob Wilkins former assistant and close friend of Terry Pratchett. The books tells about the upbringing, teenage and married life till the end and does not shy away to paint Terry Pratchett as human being with flaws. I was surprised how much of a dick Terry Pratchett had been to his employees at some times. As always there are two sides to a coin and Terry Pratchett was also a great fellow. I am grateful Rob Wilkins put this biography together. The book made me go down the memory lane again reminiscing about my time reading the books as a teenager. It also reminded me how I liked to write myself. If you would like to get to know Terry Pratchett better than pick up this book.
