An orphan killing devils with chainsaws attached to his body was all I needed to hear. Surprisingly, this manga has more to offer than the suspected gore fest. I was intrigued by the sudden plot evolving around a proxy war between devils and human hybrids.
The plot starts with Denji as a boy that has to work for the mafia, to repay the debt of his father. He finds himself befriending the chainsaw devil in the form of a cute little dog with a chainsaw attached to his head. After the boy dies under unfortunate circumstances, the devil fuses with him, creating the chainsaw man and reviving him. Denji is now able not only to kill devils, which normally would send them back to hell for good, but to erase them from existence itself by eating them. Through his new skills he quickly gets scouted by a team of governmental Devil Hunters, the Public Safety Division, led by Makima. Little does he know the plans of destiny for him.
Read this manga for glorious art by Tatsuki Fujimoto and a great story with a happy ending.
